The Highways of West Texas
The Agents managed to make it through the holidays before LAMBERT activates their cell, codename SIDESHOW. It is March 3rd of 2010, and one of LAMBERT's assets, a Captain Otto Koller of the Texas Highway Patrol, has just sent him a priority alert. There was a six car pile up on I10 east of Ozona when a van spun out of control and into oncoming traffic in the early hours of March 3rd. The van in question was holding five crew members of an Austin based television program called the Jackalope Report, all of whom were dead by the time Highway Patrol arrived. It was the state of the driver's corpse and the presence of large amounts of some sort of insect that alerted Koller. Thankfully he's managed to get ahead of this thing, both calming down the officers at the scene and stopping the rumors from spreading.
For those of you who need it, I've got you airline tickets to Midland International, rally at the Border Patrol Station nearby, ask for Watch Commander Tennison, he'll hand you your burner phones and give you a room to wait until the rest of the fliers arrive, shouldn't be any later than 2 am. He's not gonna ask anyway questions, don't ask any of him. He knows fuck all and I'd like to keep it that way.
From there, you're to head to the Holiday Host Motel and Campground near the L M Hudspeth Memorial Hospital in Sonora. You'll be meeting with Captain Koller there for a more in depth debrief.
